Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, in order that we should be called children of God, and we are. Because of this, the world does not experientially know us, because it did not know Him (1 John 3:1).
We are not adopted children. When a person believes that Christ died on behalf of our sins and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1–4), the Holy Spirit washes and regenerates him—birthing him anew by placing God's seed in him (1 John 3:9). As children of God, the world remains indifferent to Christians, for it cannot experientially know us. Therefore, let us not follow the world and its wandering paths, but let us seek and do the desirous will of God, for we are His children.
