Proclaiming the Message

God has chosen to use proclaiming the message (heralding) of the Gospel as the means by which it is spread to the world.

Therefore, how will they call upon whom they do not believe? And how will they believe whom they have not heard? And how will they hear apart from one proclaiming? Romans 10:14

For since by the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom does not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of proclaiming to save the ones believing, 1 Corinthians 1:21

The Importance of Proclaiming the Correct Message

The Holy Spirit is convicting people of one sin today. That is, the sin of not believing in Christ.

And when He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. On the one hand concerning sin because they do not believe in Me, on the other hand, concerning righteousness because I go to My Father, and you will no longer watch me, and concerning judgment because this world has been judged, John 16:8-11

The message has the inherent ability to save.

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of The Christ, for it is the natural ability of God unto salvation to all the ones believing… , Romans 1:16

The Gospel for Salvation

And I made known to you, brethren, the gospel which I gospelized to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, through which also you are saved, by that word I gospelized to you, since you hold fast, unless you believed without an object. For I delivered to you at first that which also I received, that Christ died concerning your sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

*gospelized – means to bring good news.

God Provides the Faith to Believe the Message

Because to you it is given concerning Christ not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer concerning Him, Philippians 1:29

Therefore, who is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed even as the Lord gave to each one, 1 Corinthians 3:5

For by grace you are saved through faith and this [faith] is not out from you, [it is] a gift from God, Ephesians 2:8

God Makes the Choice

Therefore then, it is not from the one desirously willing, nor from the one who runs, but from God, the One having mercy. Romans 9:16

Salvation does not come by a person accepting it the way they want to. It is by faith according to what God has determined. Therefore, it does not depend upon the one desiring salvation or working to get salvation, it is about responding in faith to the message of salvation.

As ministers of Christ we are to share the message of salvation accurately. It is the Holy Spirit Who will convict a person of the need to repent (change the mind) for not believing in Christ. We do not need to modify the message to make it more palatable for those who will not be saved; rather, we are to be accurate as ones who are proclaimers from God for the sake of those who will believe.
