Hearing God

Today we hear God by listening to the desires we have that are to do what is right. With the Holy Spirit indwelling us, God directly impacts our desires. By using the renewed mind that we have in Christ and training our senses to discern what is proper and what is wrong we can identify these desires and actually hear what God is saying to us. Not through a quiet voice, dreams, visions, or any other miraculous means, but by simply yielding to the desires we have to do good.

The Holy Spirit Impacts Our Desires

For the flesh desires against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to each other in order that what you desire these things you do not do - Galatians 5:17

Led by the Holy Spirit

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God - Romans 8:14

Taught How to Abide in Christ by the Holy Spirit

And you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you and you do not need to have in order that anyone should teach you but as the anointing teaches you concerning all things and is true, and does not lie, and just as He teaches you, abide in Him - 1 John 2:27

Walking by the Holy Spirit

And I say, walk by the Spirit and you will never fulfill the desires of the flesh - Galatians 5:16

Our Comforter

In whom also you, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, in Whom also you after believing you were sealed by the Holy Spirit of the promise - Ephesians 1:13

The Spirit of the truth, the One the world does not have the inherent ability to receive, because it cannot watch Him, nor experientially know Him, but you experientially know Him because He remains alongside you and will be in you - John 14:17

Communication with God

The twenty-four elders fell down before the One sitting upon the throne and worshiped the One living into the ages of the ages and cast their victor’s wreaths before the throne saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the inherent ability because You created all things and through Your desirous will we are and were created.” Revelation 4:10-11

And that which if we should ask, we receive from Him, because we guard His commandments and we do the things pleasing before Him. 1 John 3:22
